Neighbors-
A few quick neighborhood items:
16th Street NW
I received a note just this week that “the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin sidewalk and bus pad repairs on 16th St NW from Irving Street to K Street NW on or about July 25.” They are targeting to be completed by August 5 and repair will be Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
“At least one lane of traffic will be open in each direction. Traffic control devices will be in place.”
For now, no red paint and no dedicated bus lanes; just repair work. I’ll be paying attention to this closely.
1600 Block of Q Street
I received more information about the alley repair work to be done between Q and Corcoran Streets. DDOT is targeting to complete the work sometime before the end of the year. I also received clarification it will be the entire alley and the entrances, not a portion of it.
Kramerbooks
Washington Business Journal has a piece this week on the future of Kramerbooks on 1517 Connecticut Ave NW, including ownership seeking a new location. However, “the original Kramer’s isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The current term on the lease stretches to 2026, and there are another 20 years of options after that.”
Next ANC 2B Meeting
The next ANC 2B meeting will be on August 14 at 7:00 p.m. Location information forthcoming.
As always, let me know what you think! And please let other neighbors know about this newsletter!
