Neighbors,
Perseus TDC, the developer of the Scottish Rite Apartments, plans to submit revised plans regarding their project on 15th and S Streets NW to the Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) in the coming days. Upon their outreach, I began setting up a meeting so we can have a chance to hear directly from the developer on these updates, as well as for neighbors to ask questions. I have volunteered to moderate the discussion. The primary speaker will be Adam Peters, Executive Vice President, Development, Perseus TDC. I hope to see you there.
Neighborhood Meeting on Scottish Rite Apartments
March 12, 2019, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The Chastleton Ballroom
1701 16th St NW

An abridged background on this project:
The development involves the land directly behind the Masonic Temple, and information can be found at 173316thstreet.com. The project most recently came before the Historic Preservation Review Board in November 2018. In advance of that meeting, HPRB staff issued a report and recommendations, and the ANC 2B passed a resolution with further suggestions. The HPRB “concurred with the resolution of the ANC…” and offered a list of recommendations (pages 2 and 3) for further compatibility.
I expect the revised plans will reflect the above feedback. After this neighborhood meeting on March 12, the HPRB will likely be reviewing the plans at their April 25 meeting. Like other historic preservation applications, the ANC 2B plans to review these plans before the HPRB’s meeting.
Please encourage neighbors to attend, and let me know if you have any questions in advance of the meeting.
